Experience the beauty and peace of the Adirondacks at our La Vida base camp!

Our 75-acre property is the perfect location in the Adirondacks for a group retreat. We have several lodging options as well as semi-private access to McCauley Pond. If you want to go into town, we are just 15 minutes from Saranac Lake and 30 minutes from Lake Placid.

Our main retreat building, Algonquin, houses 15, we have several other cabins on property. Please contact us if you have questions about housing.

Our staff is here to meet your needs! If there is an amenity you are looking for, please reach out and we will try to accommodate. 

Meals

All meals are homemade and eaten in the main cabin called Marcy or outside at our picnic tables.

Semi-private Pond Access

Our property has semi-private access to McCauley Pond which is just a short walk from the cabins. Spend the day canoeing and taking in the beauty around you. We can also facilitate an off-site canoe trip to the nearby Adirondack ponds, lakes and rivers.

Classroom Space

Classroom space available in the office and main cabin. Each space can accommodate up to 20 people. 

Firepits

Solo stoves available to have s’mores or a time of worship around the fire.

Looking for a more rustic experience?

Tent at one of our many campsites on property

We have all the equipment to outfit your group for spending the night in the woods. Experience the bonding that takes place when your group really learns what it means to support each other without the luxuries of everyday daily life. 

Campsites

We have various campsites on property. La Vida provides all of the camping gear you would need.

Learn to Tent

We’ll teach you how to set up your tent. We also teach Leave No Trace principles so that you are knowledgeable about how to leave the least amount of impact on the environment while camping.

Learn to Cook

We’ll teach you how to use the camp stoves so you can cook your meals over the fire.

Adirondack Expeditions is a program of the La Vida Center for Outdoor Education and Leadership at Gordon College located on the North Shore of Boston. La Vida houses six different programs for the community including an adventure day camp for middle and high schoolers, a rock gym and challenge course activities for all ages. La Vida provides spiritual development and leadership experiences for Gordon students as well as community organizations utilizing Gordon's campus and our Base Camp in the Adirondack mountains of New York.
